Walking to Ethiopia

Saffron and Willa have run away to Ethiopia. I suggested they take some food for the journey, but they refused.

My brother and I ran away when we were little. Mum packed us a lunch each and gave us 50c.

What a teaser...need more information. I only ran away from home once, but I remember having a very good reason.

They should have asked my kids to go with! Mine could use a good "walk to Ethiopia" after spending ALL day at home:)

I hope they wore shoes. The roads can make you feet very raw at times.

The ocean crossing is going to be a bugger.
I'm thinking of running away, too, so if the food offering is still available I'll be sure to stop by on my way out.

Todd and I ran away at least twice! I can remember making it to 7-11 at the top of our street and the next time to the Smith's Food store. The Smith's manager called my mom that time! I was maybe 5 or 6. So, without any more info on the circumstances, what fun memories they are creating! All the things kids want to remember or hear about when they grow up. Hope you all are well otherwise. Much Love....me!

Well, I hope they took a map. Ethiopia is a long way to go. Especially when the weather is bad. Is Willa going along in solidarity only? What sparked the trip? Do tell...

I think we should start a Mothers Who Run Away group. We can meet at ColdStone and self-medicate.

My little brother wanted to run away once and asked my Mom to drive him. He told her where to stop, she let him out and drove around the block. When she got back he was there waiting for her, he got back in the car and they went home. Leaving him was very hard for mom but he never ran away again. I hope S & W made it home OK.
